It's Coming...
I’m hard at work on the next edition of Happy Beaver Sketchbook! Lulu.com has a thirty-two page minimum, but fortunately I’ve done plenty of drawings since volume two. Twenty pages are filled so far - when I’ve got the minimum, I’ll have to go back and lay out the book in earnest. Still, it’s going well!

Even More Blog Art
Since I’ll be announcing more toys and merchandise arriving in the future, I thought this would be a good blog icon to have. This one’s a little rougher - I recycled a drawing from Comic-Con I did a while back. Of course, it took just as long to make as the others - I slogged through a Photoshop tutorial in order to figure out how to make the ‘bling font’.

Latest Version Of Tr!ckster Fox Figure
A few days ago, I realized that I’d been designing my new figure in too piecemeal a manner. In spite of all the good responses I’d been getting to my notes, the toy was all out of whack. So I went back to the drawing board and tried to pull things back together. As is common with this kind of aesthetic ‘soul-searching’, the result was closer to the original design than I...

Art Geekery Icon Done!
I found an older drawing that I could recycle as a blog icon with just a few alterations. On top of that, I found a freeware font made from Van Gogh’s handwriting! How weird is that?

Sgt. Bilko
I did this drawing for a specific reason, but I can’t say what that reason is right now. The design is lifted from the animated opening titles. Enjoy!

NYTimes: George Lucas Is Ready To Roll The Credits
George Lucas talks about his struggles with Red Tails, personal film-making, and retirement. He’s been talking about making smaller art-house films for over twenty years, but I’m still curious to see what he’d do! Article by Bryan Curtis for the New York Times.

There’s a great website which has loads of information about Tove Jansson, the writer/artist behind the Moomintroll books. I just skimmed it this morning, and I’ve already learned a lot more about her - check it out!

The Want List: Ron English's Fat Tony Figure
Clutter magazine tweeted a picture of Ron English’s new toy. It looks, well, great! Check it out here. UPDATE (1·30·12) — Fat Tony is now for sale! I bought mine at Toy Qube. It looks like they’re not accepting any more pre-orders there, but Art Attack Toys has Tony for the same price: $59.99 + shipping.
